We have all seen the devastation that has taken place during the earthquake that shocked Haiti. For the past few days, I have been glued to the tv and was heartbroken by the amazing stories. As days go by, I know these stores will becoming more upsetting to everyone involved. So, I ask for your prayers.
There are so many people coming together to get relief to Haiti. The ports are open, but, are in operable because the cranes are immersed in ocean. It is taking approximately 6 hours to unload planes at this time. Within the next few weeks, there will be a HUGE need for donations to be sent to Haiti.
I am very blessed to be apart of such a loving and caring blogging community. Several of us have wanted to help those in Haiti and do it in a big way. Money Saving Mom has pulled this together. I am going to go leave a link on Money Saving Mom’s site. Crystal and her Husband will be donating $10 for every link that is left stating how I donated. At last check there were 130 links!
Do you want to help? Here’s what you can do. Donate to 1 (or more) of the links below. Come back and let me know where you donated to. For every link that is left from now until January 22, 2010, my family will donate $1 to the Red Cross.
1. The quickest way is to give money. You can donate online to the Red Cross HERE or send a text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. The $10 will be put on your cell phone bill.
2. Give to Numana HERE. For every $.30 that is donated, it feeds a meal to 1 person. If you can only give $3, that’s feeding 10 individuals!
3. Donate to any of the numerous outlets HERE.
4. Take any clothing, paper towel and cleaning products, perishable foods, first aid supplies and personal care products to Matthew 25 Ministries or a similar resource.
Charity Navigator or BBB is a good place to check to show you if the charity is a worthy cause.
Leave a comment below stating where you donated to. For every comment left, my family and I will donate $.25.
