As you may know, I am very passionate about raising awareness to women about heart health.
Did you know that ten times more women die from cardiovascular disease in the U.S. than from breast cancer? It’s true, but, time is not our side. In the minute that you read this post, another woman will die from cardiovascular disease.
To live your best life follow these 7 simple steps:
1. Get active, take the steps instead of the elevator.
2. Eat better, but healthy options over junk. You’ll eat the healthy options if they are in your home!
3. Lose Weight, Walk the parking lot at work instead of reading a magazine.
4. Stop Smoking, better late than never. Chew gum or candy. If I did it, anyone can!
5. Control your cholesterol, can be controlled by diet or prescription. Talk to your doctor.
6. Manage Blood Pressure, is single most significant risk factor for heart disease. This is often referred to as the “silent killer” because it has no symptoms. Speak with your doctor.
7. Reduce sugar, again controlled by diet.
You can help by donating to the American Heart Association. There goal is to raise $100,000 by February 12. You can save women’s lives, by donating HERE today.
