Does it Pay to Coupon?

by Marci | Print the article | Feb 10

Did you know that nearly 3.3 billion coupons were redeemed last year? That’s a increase of 27% from 2008. With the average coupon being worth $1.44 it’s worth 30 seconds to for me to clip, print and purchase coupons! It’s also worth another 45 seconds to organize my coupon binder, which goes with me into EVERY store.

The hard part is finding out what deals are at what stores. But, that’s why I do what I love to do! I provide your weekly deals (Meijer, Kroger, CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Target) and it simply takes less than 1 minute to read each store. From my site you can write down what inserts the coupon was in or even print coupons directly from my site. Saving you time and money!

Speaking of printing coupons, did you know that you can get your ink cartridges refilled at Walgreen’s for less than $10? Be sure to stop at the Photo Counter the next time you are there and watch for coupons in your weekly ads!

The best part about clipping coupons is that I can do it while I am watching a television program, on my couch and at my leisure. To make this process even faster you can order the coupons that you know you will use from Coupons by Dede or http://couponcarryout.com/affiliate/jrox.php?id=1067. That $.15 or less you will pay for the time of clipping the coupon, may be worth it in the end. Ordering coupons will also keep from getting those extra coupons that you will never use. Ordering coupons also allows you to order multiple coupons and to grow your stockpile!

Do you have extra coupons that sit around and expire? Did you know that you can trade with members on HCW? I use to do this frequently, but, now take my extra coupons to coupon swaps held throughout Cincinnati. If you would like to attend a coupon swap, email me at Marci@CincinnatiCoupons.net. If I have enough interest, I’d love to host one!

For those of you who are doubters, I challenge you on a journey. I challenge you to not become ADDICTED TO SAVING MONEY! Use coupons for frequent use throughout the next two weeks and let me know of your savings. To help get you started be sure to check out the sites listed below:

Coupons.com,printable grocery, medicine, toys, etc. coupons
RedPlum.com, printable grocery coupons
SmartSource.com, printable grocery coupons
Cellfire.com, upload coupons to your phone or grocery savings card.
UPromise.com, upload coupons to your savings card and shop online. The savings gets deposited into an account that you create for your child or grandchild.

Also, be sure to check out the store matchups and the FREE Items of the Week list.

If you are heading out to a restaurant be sure to visit the restaurants website. More often that not, they will email you a coupon for a FREE appetizer or dessert! You will also receive coupons throughout the month and a FREE appetizer or dessert on your birthday!

Be sure to come back and let me know your savings on a daily basis. I’ve got a few prizes to give away over the next 2 weeks!

Be sure to tell your friends on Facebook and Twitter. If you are not yet a fan of CincinnatiCoupons on Facebook or CintiCoupons on Twitter you should. I share deals that I find in stores!

    Hi Marci,

I started couponing in November, so I am still very new at it. I started tracking my purchases last month. We saved 53% last month on all of our food purchases. This month I am going to track not only food, but also gifts, etc. So far we have saved 58% in February. I am truely addicted, and I find it hard to pay full price for anything now. I heard about Little Miss Know It All on Q102. Her site led me to your site. I also love Amber at Saving Money Wisely. Thanks to all of you, I have learned how fun it is to save money. Thank you so much for all of your hard work!!
