“Carry it forward and don’t waste any more time. Use your light to serve the world” – Oprah
Well the Oprah show is no more. Like all of us, there are a few shows that will stick with us throughout our lifetime. The biggest impact for me was Jacqui Saburido of Venezuela. She was a victim of a drunk driving accident and was burned so bad that her face was unrecognizable. Jacqui said “I give myself 5 minutes a day to feel sorry for myself”. For having the life of 12 years and to not let herself be depressed that’s put motivation in me. I’ve always kept that in the back of my mind when the original show aired and when I was having a rough day I was sure to remind myself. Jacqui was on the Oprah show a few weeks ago during my rough patch and I was reminded {totally needed it too!}.
For a few weeks I was beginning to get depressed because of all this sickness with the pregnancy, having to take care of a 3 year old daughter and felt like a failure as a wife. At that moment, I realized that I didn’t have it bad and I reminded myself every day since then that someone else has it worse than I do and to be grateful for what I do have.
I take a few moments every day to give Thanks to God for blessing me with this child in utero, the beautiful Mini Me and my ever loving Husband. If it wasn’t for my Husband and Mini Me during these past few weeks I’m sure I would be depressed. However, I’ve risen above because my “calling” {as Oprah says} is to help others. That is all of you!
My calling in life is to help others. That’s why I believe God put me here. My duty is to help others by taking a simple task from their every day lives. For you it’s saving you money. I also help others by donating my time, extra groceries to the less fortunate and so much more.
“You can only help others who want to help themselves.”
In time my calling will change in the way I help others. When that time comes I would love to be able to help Pit Bulls. I see myself retired with my Husband and rescuing Pit Bulls, because we have a passion for this breed of dog. They are often underestimated and criticized which angers the both of us. With my compassion and my husband’s understanding of the breed we’d make a powerful team!
“Everybody wants to be heard, what is it you want to say? What is it you want to tell others?
Another memorable moment, for me, is Erin Kramp. Erin was a Mother that was dying of breast cancer and recorded hundreds of videos for her daughter, Peyton, before her death. For one to plan ahead for their child is such an inspiration to me. I would hope that if a life altering moment was ahead of me I would have the strength and courage to leave words of inspiration behind to my children, wish my Husband enough love to find happiness again and give gifts during Christmas and birthdays while I was gone.
On the last Oprah show she wants all of her viewers to find their calling and to recognize the power lies within yourself. The power is all the same you can listen, you can help, you can forgive, you can teach, you can heal, you have the power to change somebody’s life and that’s also what I want for you. All of us has the power to change someone’s life with a skill like listening, volunteering, helping Mother Nature, whatever it is that you are passionate about!

I too was very moved by the ending of Oprah’s show. I admit I have not watched in awhile but I did watch the end and was moved by her powerful words. I recently have been struggling with depression as I’m a single unemployed mother. I’ve been feeling very hopeless lately and not sure what I’m going to do. I’ve been entering a lot of sweepstakes hoping to win some money and recently went online to learn how to increase my luck. In doing so I came upon The Secret. Well I totally believe in The Law of Attraction which basically says what we put out into the universe is what we get back. So if your sad all the time, depressed, thinking about all of the things you don’t have, that’s exactly what you’re going to get back. But if you are thankful for all that you do have and put it out there that you do have enough money, that your happy and satisfied, well then, that’s what your going to get back. I’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks and I’ve started winning more and enjoying life more too. I have to stay strong for my son. My mother was depressed a lot around me and very negative and I will not do that to my son.
Thank you for all of the hard work you put into this website.
