Have you started to shop for those Christmas gifts? If not, now is the time to get started and begin to save hundreds of dollars. Here’s the top 10 Ways to Christmas Savings:
1. Plan ahead – with a Gift Giving List that also allows you to budget! When you see where you are spending your money, you are likely to purchase less and spend smarter!
2. Know when to buy -Every product goes on sale at some point and time. When you know when to purchase the bigger ticket items, you’ll save more money. A great time to buy laptops, televisions, cameras, washer and dryer sets, GPS & gaming systems is around Black Friday.
3. Take out cash – once you have your budget pay for the items on your Gift List with cash when possible. Doing so will allow you to make smarter purchasing choices.
4. Make purchases online & earn cash back – The past two years I’ve done 90% of my shopping online, scored great deals {combine sale with a discount code and FREE Shipping!} and also received cash back for making my purchase online. Join sites like ShopAtHome.com and Ebates.com, you’ll receive $5 just for signing up and making a qualified purchase within 60 days!
5. Join Swagbucks – begin to research your purchases with SwagBucks.com. For simply searching the internet you’ll earn rewards that you can then redeem for gift cards and/or prizes. This is how I spend less out of pocket to stores that I love. You can even get a PayPal deposit!
6. Make use of FREE items! Be sure to keep up with our FREEday Friday posts. Get creative with your gift giving this year and give the essentials with themed gift baskets.
7. Make extra money with online survey sites – If you’ve got a few minutes a day, you can earn extra income a day by filling out surveys. My two favorite sites are MySurvey.com and Opinion Outpost.
8. Maximize Rebates – Over the course of the year submit rebates for items that you’ve purchased. Deposit the checks into a separate savings account to use on your Christmas spending. It’s like getting FREE money!!!!
9. Make it personal – Some of my favorite gifts that I’ve received were personal and memorable. These include scrapbooks, recipes, monogrammed return address labels and “Mommy” gifts! You can also give customized coupon booklets that can be good for a free night of sitting, dinners on me, etc.
10. Utilize the $1 items – Be sure to hit the $1 store and the $1 bins at stores like Target. The $1 store is great for trinkets, picture frames, seasonal items and decorations.
