Marci’s Not So Extreme Stockpile + How To Organize Stockpile

As you can see from the images below, I’m not considered an “Extreme Couponer”. If you know me personally, you know I like to minimize as much as possible and I HATE clutter! That’s the reason we are finishing our basement {which is almost done and a 2 week project!}. I blame my extreme cleanliness on my Mother and Father. When I was growing up, I had to have my room spotless ALL. THE. TIME. When I was young I complained, but, now I’m grateful I was raised that way! Being clean and organized has made me spend less and save more!

We lived off the majority of my stockpile the entire month of November and December. I am still able to make dishes with use my of stockpile and am not starting to run out of supplies. With the great sales that come at the end of January, I’m expecting to get my food stockpile back!

However, there is a closet, that doesn’t need any more essentials added to it…the health and beauty stockpile, for at least 6 months! I’ve got plenty of paper towels, deodorant (men and women), shampoo and conditioner, body wash, band-aids, feminine products, home fragrances, body sprays and makeup! Now I’ve also donated about 50% of all that back in December to the Bread of Life Food Pantry.

Now I will admit, I had fallen off the “organization” bandwagon. With the holidays and family coming and going I wasn’t able to keep my stockpile organzied. So I took a few hours last week and got them back to being organized. Doing so let me see what I need and what I have plenty of so I won’t be wasting money and able to maximize my savings in 2011!

I know for some of you space is tight. So here are some great ways to keep a stockpile and stay organzied:

  • Over the door shoe organizer is great for a pantry door. Keep items like seasonings, tuna, kool-aid packets, etc.

  • Plastic storage bins that will slide underneath a bed. These are great for keeping health & beauty items in!

  • Create a shelf in your laudry room for extra canned goods. Whether you use cabinets, clear drawers on locking rollers, etc.
  • As always shelves are also a great option. I will be adding a shelf in my laundry room (once basement is complete) to add all of my laundry and paper products too! My current laundry detergent stash is in the plastic laundry tub!
  • A hutch is also a great place to place your overflowing stockpile. I currently don’t have anything in there but 4-6 paper plates, napkins, cups and utensils. I’ll also place more canned goods in the bottom of the hutch once I get more canned goods.

As you can see all of these otions are very inexpensive. They will also save you time and money since you will be organized!

Do you have photos of your stockpile that you’d like to share? If so, send them to Marci @ CincinnatiCoupons.net (spaces removed!). I’ll be sure to share them!!

So she bought shelving that fit in her bathroom and this is what holds all of those items. This is also great because you can see what remains in your stockpile and what you are running out of!
