I’ve only been able to find it at my local Walmart store and it’s priced about $2.50, which I think is steep. So we ran out the other day and Mini Me REALLY wanted Cinnamon butter on her toast for lunch so after lunch we went ahead and made our own version.

Ingredients

1/2  cup granulated sugar

4-5 tbps ground cinnamon

1 cup butter (softened)

This is pretty simple really.

Mix together in a small bowl the sugar and cinnamon.

In a separate bowl use a mixer to whip the butter.

Once the butter is whipped (3-4 minutes) mix the cinnamon/sugar mixture. If you like a stronger cinnamon taste you’ll wanna add about 5-6 tbps.

Be sure to use a ziploc container to save your yummy goodness. You can add ontop of pancakes (Thanks Tina!), toast or a english muffin for a great start to your morning or even a roll at dinner time! This recipe would also make a great gift to that special foodie in your life or even a new Mommy!

When you combine the addiction to saving money and the $1.99 at McDonald’s this is a calling for me to make a copycat recipe!

I was able to pick up Silver Palate Thick & Rough Oatmeal for $.99 after sale and coupon!

Ingredients

3/4 water
1/3 Oats
1/4 apple diced
2 TBSP Ground Cinnamon (You may wanna start off with 1 TBSP if you don’t like a strong cinnamon taste)
2 TBSP Brown Sugar
Chopped walnuts for garnish

Bring water to a boil and slowly add oats. Reduce heat and stir occasionally. One the oats begin absorbing the water add the ground cinnamon and brown sugar and stir well. Add diced apples to the pan and incorporate. Serve warm once you get the consistency that you like. Add walnuts. ENJOY!

I’d like to think that if you are reading this article you are addicted to saving money, right?!? Well here’s a quick tip to save on your automobile and home insurance.

Call your agent today and ask that they shop around for you! Now adays rates are so competitive and just like houses for sale, it’s a buyers market. Here are a few tips to keep in mind before you call:

- Have you (or any drivers on your policy) had any speeding tickets or accidents in the past three years?

- Are your home and automobile currently with the same company?

- Do you have a trampoline, pool or operate a business out of your home?

- Has your credit rating improved recently?

In addition to the above questions, think about whether or not you need to have full coverage on your vehicle. If you don’t have a loan and the car is a bit older you may wanna opt for liability coverage only, which is sooo much cheaper!

I literally just saved myself $698 TODAY!

We had our homeowners through Grange with a $1000 deductible and was paying $724 a year and we are now down to $560 a year by combining our auto insurance with Grange instead of Progressive. With Progessive we were paying $737 for $50/$100K per accident and doubled it to $100/$300  per accident. If we were to make payment it would be $518 every 6 months. However, with Grange they offer a Pay In Full discount so we will now be paying $470 every 6 months for 3 vehicles!
