I know several of you have complained about your negative shopping experiences at the Beechmont Target location. Today, was my most unpleasant experience and won’t be shopping the store any time soon.

Here’s what happened:

All of my merchandise had been scanned and the cashier was beginning to scan my coupons. Another cashier had been standing at the end of the checkout aisle and they made “eye contact”. I knew what that meant, COUPONS….GREAT!

I kept my eye on the register making sure coupons were being deducted properly and trying to keep Mini Me entertained as well. The cashier handed me a coupon back and said “We can’t take this, it’s not a manufacture coupon, it’s a Kroger coupon”. I kindly replied “No, it’s a manufacture coupon with a Kroger logo. It states right here MANUFACTURE COUPON”.

The cashier on the end called for the Store Manager. I thought to myself, good we can educate a cashier. NOPE! I was ever so wrong. The store manager capped an attitude and said “This store lost over $3,000 due to misuse of coupons and we don’t accept coupons from other stores.” She then headed to the register behind me to ring up another customer. I said “No, this states it is a manufacture coupon, if I would’ve cut the Kroger logo off the bottom of the coupon, you would’ve taken it. The cashier never even tried to scan the coupon. If your not suppose to accept a coupon or have overage, the coupon will beep”. She exlaimed “NO!” and refused to speak with me. I even tried to show her the Target Coupon Policy that was in my binder and she wasn’t having it.

A customer behind me even stated the same thing I did. She said she cuts the Kroger emblem off the Kroger mailers and the accept. So if you are reading this shout out to ya

A few coupons later the cashier again handed me a $2/1 Nivea coupon that was again from a Kroger mailer, but, a MANUFACTURE COUPON. This time I didn’t even argue, I was already frustrated, had a crabby 3 year old and was getting aggravated.

I ended up purchasing all the items. Usually, I would’ve given the items back, but, I wanted out of there and didn’t feel like digging for the product. Yeah, it was $3, but, it was better I left.

After I loaded the truck up, I called and spoke with corporate. I had asked the customer service rep if Target stores accept a MANUFACTURE COUPON with a KROGER LOGO. It took her a few minutes because she had to look it up, but, the answer came out to be YES!

Bottom line, I was right and the employees and store manager were WRONG! I left my name and number and filed a report against the store. The district manager was going to be receiving the complaint and looking into the situation. The CSR did say, if this ever happens again, call corporate while in the store and let them speak with the store manager.

Now, I wanna know. What are some situations that have happened to you at ANY Target store? I’ll be collecting this information and taking it to my contact at Target.

HOW TO SHOP SMART AT TARGET

1. Target accepts manufacture coupons along with a Target store coupon.
* You can print Target coupons HERE.
2. Have a cell phone? Sign up HERE to receive Target store coupons on Sunday! These coupons can be stacked with manufacture coupons! The cashier simply scans the bar code from your phone!
3. Be sure to check Sunday inserts for additional Target coupons. Target insert coupons will not be found anywhere else.
4. Target accepts Internet Printable coupons. I’ve noticed the internet printable coupons scan easier if in color ink. Note: Each store has it’s own policy on internet printable coupons. More times than not, they will be accepted.
5. Target will price match. You must bring in the competing stores ad to receive the discount. This is only done at the Customer Service desk.
6. Print the Target Coupon Policy and be sure to keep on hand in your coupon binder.
7. Target does not issue rain checks on the gift certificate items. They will issue rain checks on other advertised items, unless noted in the ad.

When reading Target matchups, you will notice the term “stacking”. Stacking is defined as combining a manufacture coupon with a store coupon to maximize savings. Target (along with Walgreens and Meijer) are known for great deals when “stacking”.

Please take note that the Manager at every store is allowed to make changes to the coupon policy. I’ve heard there are several stores throughout Cincinnati that are easier to shop at than others. Milford Target is very coupon friendly! The Beechmont store is becoming more and more enjoyable to shop at.

Target is a great store to shop at and get FREE items (and donate back into the community!) I love the $5 Gift Cards that they offer on specific purchases every week. Sometimes I get paid to shop after coupons and the gift cards!

Many of you have sent me an email asking how to print the Target Store Printable Coupons. So, here’s a tutorial:

1. Head over to Target.com.

2. Head to the bottom of the page and click on “Coupons” under “Target Stores”.

3. Select the coupon(s) you’d like to print by clicking the red box that says “Select to Print”.

4. Once you’ve selected your coupons click “Print Selected Coupons” at the bottom of the page.

The only negative thing with printing these coupons is that you won’t know if it’s a Target Store Printable or a Manufacture’s Printable until it’s printed, unless the coupon states otherwise.
